What is EMDR Therapy?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced-based therapy that uses a client’s own eye movements, or other bilateral methods, such as tapping or sounds, to reduce the power of emotionally charged memories, or past traumatic events.
EMDR helps the brain reprocess trapped memories or events in a way that normal information processing and healing occurs. It also helps clients uncover and process negative beliefs that developed as a result of the traumas.
